Weekend Wine Trip

If you’d like to take an enjoyable day trip away from the city — or, if you have the time, a quaint weekend away at a bed and breakfast — put Fredericksburg on your radar.

The small town has a plethora of quality wineries.  I particularly enjoy visiting this time of year when the heat loses its intensity.  Somehow a glass of local red wine tastes better that time of year.

One of the most popular Texas Wineries is Becker Vineyards.  They are open 7 days week with the exception of New Years Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They even offer Complimentary tasting for all active duty military.  You can even bring a picnic lunch to be enjoyed on their scenic grounds.

For us golfers, Boot Ranch has won several awards and accolades including Best New Course and #8 in the Dallas Morning News Top 100 Texas Courses.  It's just a few miles outside of Fredericksburg in some beautiful Texas Hill Country, is as good as it gets and is a must play Texas golf course.
